Dear Lord, if this is true, it could be very interesting. I'm sure that most of you out there are already well aware of the fact that Peter Jackson is remaking King Kong. The original (an absolute classic) is one of the movies that inspired him to be a film maker. Naomi Watts has been in place as the female lead for months. For a while now, Jackson has been searching for the perfect Carl Denham. Names like George Clooney, Robert DeNiro and Kevin Spacey have been kicked around but according to a little report over at aint-it-cool-news.com, Carl Denham will be played by...JACK "FRIGGIN" BLACK. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm completely intrigued by the idea. This could be a lot of fun. Just three days ago, I had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Black at ShoWest. My line of questioning was aimed towards the Tenacious D movie. Had I any knowledge of this whole King Kong thing, I would have certainly asked him about it. I really hope this news is true. While Black is no DeNiro, Clooney, or Spacey, I really think he can pull Denham off. This could be a huge career leap for the funnyman.
